McNees’ Real Estate, Construction & Procurement Groups Add Attorney, Paralegal

HARRISBURG, Pa. — (July 18, 2022) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC is pleased to announce that Kate W. Millikan and Susan E. Uttal joined the firm’s Real Estate and Construction & Procurement Law Groups, one of the largest teams of such attorneys, paralegals and specialists in Central Pennsylvania.

Serving clients from offices in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland and Washington, D.C., the Real Estate and Construction & Procurement Law Groups boast a combined bench of 35 legal professionals. It includes a team of attorneys, paralegals and a land planning specialist, all of whom deliver sophisticated legal advice to clients in virtually all areas related to commercial real estate, construction and procurement law.

“We are excited to bring back Kate and add Suze to our team,” Jon Andrews, chair of the Real Estate and Construction & Procurement Law Groups, said. “They bring valuable experience on a diverse range of real estate matters to enhance our depth and bring greater value to our clients’ needs.”

Leveraging seven years of real estate and land use law experience, Millikan primarily handles property acquisitions, commercial lease negotiations, land use matters and the formation of planned communities and condominiums. Her core understanding of this area of the law enables her to effectively advise and assist developers in the creation of large-scale residential planned communities, condominiums, commercial developments, industrial complexes and mixed-use projects.

Millikan returns to McNees from one of the country’s top 50 law firms, where she represented national and regional clients in leasing matters as well as real estate acquisitions and dispositions.

Uttal, who has handled commercial real estate transactions for more than four decades, works on a broad range of projects for clients who include real estate developers, investors, lenders, buyers and sellers of real estate, businesses, non-profit entities and commercial lessors and lessees.

She has over four decades of experience working for companies and law firms drafting and negotiating retail and office leases, amendments and other documents; reviewing real estate documents; conducting due diligence reviews; and preparing closing documents for purchases and sales of commercial real estate.

The goal of the team of professionals in the firm’s Real Estate and Construction & Procurement Law Groups is to work with clients to achieve their objectives at all stages of the project through practical, efficient and timely representation. Included in both groups are frequent speakers, writers and educational presenters with a wide breadth of thought leadership.
