McNees Attorney to receive 2018 Professor Starla J. Williams Service Award

Harrisburg, Pa. – (February 14, 2018) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC Attorney Rachel Hadrick is the Widener Commonwealth Law School Black Law Student Association’s 2018 Professor Starla J. Williams Service Award recipient. The Professor Starla J. Williams Service Award is presented to an individual in an effort to recognize their efforts to promote diversity within the legal community. Rachel will receive the award during the annual Minority Alumni Honoree Reception hosted by the Black Law Students Association of Widener University Commonwealth Law School on February 20.
Rachel is an associate in the Litigation, Automotive Dealership, and Insurance Groups at McNees. She is a member of the PBA Diversity Team and the PBA Minority Bar Committee and has chaired the Minority Bar Committee’s Central PA Minority Law Day.
While in law school, Rachel served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Widener Law Journal and participated in the Harrisburg Civil Law Clinic, representing indigent clients in civil matters. She also assisted students as an Academic Support Fellow for first-year legal research and writing courses. Rachel was also an active member of several student organizations, including the local chapter of the Black Law Students Association, serving as President in 2011-2012. In her final year of law school, Rachel was a member of the James S. Bowman American Inn of Court as a pupil.
Prior to attending law school, Rachel worked in student services at a private liberal arts college, where her primary areas were residence life and diversity. In addition to supporting students and addressing particular student needs, Rachel also conducted trainings and worked to develop college-wide initiatives.
