McNees Attorneys to Speak on Data Privacy and Remote Working at PA Chamber IT Conference

HARRISBURG, Pa. – (September 15, 2020) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC attorneys Eric Athey and Devin Chwastyk will present on cybersecurity and remote working at the PA Chamber of Business and Industry’s 2020 Information Technology Architectural Conference on Thursday, September 24, 2020.  This year’s event will be held virtually.

Eric and Devin’s session “Cyber Security Strategies for Onsite and Remote Workers” will outline the cybersecurity and privacy concerns surrounding a remote workforce, as well as the policies and procedures that should be in place.  In addition, they will explain how laws and contracts define reasonable security measures to protect sensitive data.

Eric Athey is Co-Chair of the McNees Labor and Employment Practice Group, where he provides counseling and representation to employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including compliance assistance with laws such as the Affordable Care Act, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, and wage and hour laws.  He routinely helps unionized and non-union clients navigate difficult situations involving allegations of discrimination and harassment, as well as labor negotiations and arbitrations, employment contracts, and employment policy development. He represents private and public sector employers before state and federal courts, arbitrators and administrative agencies.

Devin Chwastyk is Chair of the McNees Privacy & Data Security Practice Group, where he advises clients on how to get ahead of data exposure by developing data security policies, privacy disclosures, breach response plans, and associated training programs.  Devin helps clients remedy and report security breach events.  He holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional (U.S.) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
