Matt is the Member-In-Charge of the firm’s Columbus, Ohio office and a member of the Energy and Environmental Group. This group is
populated with personnel necessary to deliver robust and in-depth legal analysis of energy and environmental issues. Along with lawyers and paralegals, the group includes multiple technical specialists, including engineers, utility regulatory accountants, and government relations experts.

What does Matt do for Clients?
McNees’ Energy and Environmental group is staffed with the legal and technical experts that allow our representation of clients to move beyond reactive and deliver proactive practical solutions designed to fit a client’s individual energy needs. Matt’s background includes pursuit of an electrical engineering degree from The Ohio State University, and several internships in the transmission engineering department of a utility, through which he developed the knowledge and analytical skills necessary to understand the complex area of utility regulation and energy markets. Combining this technical expertise with a robust understanding of utility and energy law allows Matt to identify opportunities to enhance my clients position on energy and utility matters.
