Daniel Hicks is a litigation attorney advising clients in fiduciary litigation and guardianship matters. As part of the McNees Litigation Group, he represents clients in matters involving conservatorships, guardianships, and the oversight of minors and incapacitated adults.
Before joining McNees, Daniel gained valuable litigation experience handling the defense of general liability, personal injury defense, and medical malpractice actions. He was responsible for drafting motions, taking and defending depositions, and working closely with both co-defense and opposing counsel to reach favorable outcomes through non-judicial settlement negotiations.
Daniel’s experience also includes serving as a legal intern in an estate planning firm, where he assisted in drafting wills, powers of attorney, and other estate-related documents. He also worked with small business owners on business-related needs, including real estate transactions. Additionally, Daniel gained valuable experience as a Law Clerk with the Delaware Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General, where he handled criminal matters and conducted research on complex regulatory issues in the Homicide and Investor Protections units.
Daniel is a graduate of Rutgers Law School in Newark, NJ, and holds a B.A. in History, cum laude, from the University of Maine.
