McNees Welcomes Jason Rafeld to Energy & Environmental Law Practice Group

COLUMBUS, Oh. – (August 28, 2019) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC announces the addition of Jason Rafeld to the firm’s Energy & Environmental Law Practice Group.

Jason represents clients on a wide variety of regulatory issues including electric, gas, pipelines, education and technology.  He focuses on finding the best solutions at the best times for his clients and believes clients deserve to be advised on all possible solutions whether they are legal, government, legislative or market based.

Some of Jason’s major energy deals have been recognized nationally through industry press and at the White House.  He has experience with educational issues, combating abuse and over prescription of painkillers, defending billions of dollars in class action lawsuits and crisis management.

Jason previously served as Chief of Staff of the Ohio Public Utilities Commission, Chief of Staff and Chief Operating Officer of the Ohio Department of Education, and General Counsel at the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.  He also held positions on the State Teachers Retirement System Board and the Broadcast Educational Media Commission.

Jason received his J.D. from Capital University Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky.  He has served his country as a United States naval officer.
