HARRISBURG, PA (Nov. 24, 2015) – David L. Smith, Of Counsel joins McNees’ Intellectual Property Practice Group and brings with him nearly 30 years legal experience. He will be resident in the firm’s Harrisburg office.
Prior to joining McNees, Smith served as Senior IP Counsel at LSI Corporation in Allentown, PA. Smith defended against third party allegations of patent infringement; supported litigation; developed outside counsel guidelines for preparation and managed outside counsel preparation and prosecution of patent applications.
Since 2001, Smith has served as a member of the Adjunct Faculty for The Pennsylvania State University, Middletown, PA, where he developed and taught a course entitled “Management of Intellectual Property.”
Smith received his J.D. from The Western New England University School of Law; his M.B.A. from the Pennsylvania State Univeristy; his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University; and a Bachelor of Science from Grove City College.
He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; State of Connecticut; before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals for Federal Circuit Court, before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and before the United States District Courts for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
