HARRISBURG, PA (January 17, 2017) – The largest mergers & acquisitions (M&A) law practice group in Central Pennsylvania registered another strong year as McNees assisted clients in successfully closing over $3 billion in transactions during 2016.
With 18 attorneys working in M & A – the most in Central Pennsylvania according to research published by the Central Penn Business Journal – the practice group is experienced in representing both purchasers and sellers in stock transactions, asset transactions, and tax-free and taxable mergers and reorganizations. The firm is particularly sensitive to balancing the business and personal issues involved in family business M & A transactions.
McNees Chairman David M. Kleppinger attributes the level of M & A activity at the firm to the breadth and depth of the M & A practice group, combined with robust deal flow both domestically and internationally.
“Coming off a record year for mergers and acquisitions, an overwhelming majority of executives at U.S. corporations and private equity firms forecast that deal activity will stay strong or even ramp up,” Kleppinger said. “Our team works in a wide variety of industries on M & A transactions that include components of real estate, tax, labor and employment, intellectual property and environmental issues. We have attorneys focused in each of these important areas.”
The McNees M&A practice group is led by co-chairs Brad Gunnison and Tim Finnerty.
