McNees Attorney to Present on Cybersecurity Contract Terms at NACo Conference

HARRISBURG, Pa. – (October 6, 2020) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC privacy and data security attorney Devin Chwastyk is scheduled to take part in the National Association of Counties Tech Xchange: Fall Virtual CIO Forum Series on Thursday, October 15, 2020.
Devin’s session “Cybersecurity Terms for Contracts” will summarize the most necessary and hotly contested language for technology contracts, include confidentiality, data ownership, cyber insurance, and the allocation of liability and risk between the vendor and customer.

Devin J. Chwastyk is a member of the Privacy & Data Security Practice Group. For more than 15 years, he has counseled the firm’s clients on privacy and cybersecurity issues and assisted them in developing data security policies, privacy disclosures, breach response plans, and related training programs. He advises clients on compliance with emerging federal, state, and international privacy laws, including California’s Consumer Privacy Act and the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation. He also helps organizations respond to data security incidents by leading the investigation and remediation of such incidents, analyzing resultant legal obligations, reporting breaches to affected individuals and government regulators, and otherwise working to limit potential legal liability for such events. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
