McNees Attorney Teaches Refresher on Municipalities Planning Code

HARRISBURG, Pa. – (Tuesday, May 22, 2018) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC attorney Jon Andrews is scheduled to teach a course titled “Municipalities Planning Code Refresher” for the Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) tonight in Lansdale and tomorrow, Wednesday, May 23 in Clarks Summit.
Jon’s class will review the fundamentals of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC), which specifies the process for comprehensive plans and land use regulations, like zoning and subdivision ordinances. It will also include the discussion of key provisions and related legal concepts, recent amendments and helpful tips for interpreting the MPC.
Jon is co-chair of the McNees Real Estate Group and practices in the Eminent Domain, Oil & Natural Gas and Pipeline & Oil/Gas Infrastructure Groups. He has experience in handling all forms of zoning relief, including special exceptions and conditional use. He also advises clients on requests for zoning amendments and challenges to existing ordinances. As a certified instructor for the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Education Institute, he instructs planning commission members, zoning officers and other municipal officials on zoning, subdivision and land development matters.
