McNees Government Relations Adds Philadelphia Area Team Member

HARRISBURG, Pa. – McNees Government Relations (McNees GR) has added a Philadelphia-area team member to its professional roster, deepening the firm’s ability to expand its services across the Delaware Valley region.
Brittney Baker Shurr, a veteran government relations and grassroots advocacy professional, has joined McNees GR as a government affairs and business development consultant. Based in Reading, she will serve clients throughout the Lehigh Valley and greater Philadelphia region.
“Brittney brings more than a decade of experience in local on-the-ground advocacy and legislative outreach strategy, working with local governments and coalitions on land use, real estate development, environmental and infrastructure policy,” said Michael G. Musser II, president of the McNees GR Advocacy, Government Relations and Consulting team. “She is a Reading native who understands the needs and nuances of the communities across the greater Philadelphia region, so she will add great value to McNees GR’s clients.”
Baker Shurr most recently held the position of Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy for the Greater Philadelphia Association of REALTORS®, where she managed the association’s government affairs and political advocacy efforts. She previously served as Association Executive for the Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS®, and prior to that as a regional Political Field Representative for the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS®.
She began her career working in the Office of Governor Tom Corbett. Baker Shurr is a graduate of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and government.
