HARRISBURG, Pa. – (Wednesday, May 5, 2021) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC is pleased to announce that its Legal Equity Advancement Program (LEAP) and attorney Denise Elliott are among The Legal Intelligencer’s 2021 Professional Excellence awardees.
McNees’ Legal Equity Advance Program was honored in the diversity initiative category. LEAP is designed to help black-owned or black-controlled businesses thrive by providing up to five such businesses with up to a year’s worth of pro bono legal services to assist in the launch and/or growth of their business. Additionally, all applicants of the program are offered a variety of educational opportunities in specific areas of business and the law.
Denise Elliott, a Member of the firm, received recognition as an unsung hero for her role during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. As Chair of the firm’s Professional Development and Education Committee, Denise led the Committee in coming up with creative initiatives to promote well-being and provide a sense of connectedness among all within the firm. The leadership shown by Denise proved to have a positive impact on the firm during a difficult time.

This year’s Legal Intelligencer Professional Excellence honorees will be recognized in special editorial sections in the publication and there are plans for an awards dinner on June 24, 2021, at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia.
