Harrisburg, Pa. – (July 3, 2019) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC intellectual property attorney Emily Doan will speak at the Nonfiction Authors Association Central PA Chapter meeting on July 9, 2019.

Emily will be discussing the topic of “The Legality of Authorship” and will cover copyright registration, fair use, forming a business around writing and other topics of interest to authors.

Emily’s practice includes domestic and international trademark and copyright counseling, registration, and litigation. Emily resolves trademark and copyright disputes through negotiated co-existence, licensing, and settlement agreements and represents clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and in federal court. Emily drafts, reviews, and negotiates franchise, licensing, and technology agreements, including software licensing agreements, software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreements, website terms of use, and privacy policies. She also counsels clients on a wide variety of advertising and marketing issues. Emily is a frequent author on developments in intellectual property law.
