McNees Attorney Thomas Markey Earns CIPP/E Certification

HARRISBURG, Pa. – (September 3, 2019) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC attorney Thomas Markey has become a Certified Information Privacy Professional in European Data Protection Law (CIPP/E), a designation earned through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
The CIPP/E is credentialed to those who demonstrate thorough knowledge of European privacy laws and regulations and understanding of the legal requirements for the responsible transfer of sensitive personal data to and from the U.S., the EU and other jurisdictions.
Thomas Markey practices in the McNees Privacy & Data Security Practice Group where he advises clients on compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation; the self-certification process under the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield; and compliance with U.S. privacy and data breach notification laws.
