LANCASTER, PA – Mark Stanley of McNees Wallace & Nurick, was installed as president of the Building Industry Association (BIA) of Lancaster County during its 2017 Board of Directors Banquet on January 5 at The Eden Resort.
Stanley will serve a one-year term as president of the BIA.
Formed in 1956, the BIA promotes a balanced smart-growth approach to development in Lancaster County. As a longtime member of the BIA, Stanley has served on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors, as well as the Government Affairs Committee. He was the recipient of the BIA President’s Award in 2012, and 2013. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Lancaster County Bar Associations, the Pennsylvania Builders Association, where he is Co-Chair of the special committee on Pennsylvania Department of Transportation issues.
In addition, Stanley serves as a Committee Member for the Lancaster County Housing Affordability Task Force and the Lancaster County Smart Growth Transportation Task Force and is the former Vice President of the Coalition for Smart Growth.
A member of McNees’ Real Estate Practice Group, Stanley counsels commercial, residential, industrial and mixed use development clients on all aspects of the land development entitlement process. He regularly appears before municipal planning commissioners, governing bodies, zoning hearing boards and state agencies. He also advises development clients on Department of Transportation and Highway Occupancy permit issues.
Stanley is a graduate of Marquette University and the University of Dayton School of Law.
