McNees Attorney Brian Gregg to Participate on ABA Panel: “Overview of Intellectual Property Law Affecting Farmers, Agri-Businesses and Food Entrepreneurs”

Harrisburg, PA (Nov. 3, 2015) – On Nov. 19, 2015, McNees attorney Brian Gregg will be participating in a panel discussion titled “Overview of Intellectual Property Law Affecting Farmers, Agri-Businesses and Food Entrepreneurs” for the American Bar Association (ABA) from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

The Webinar will cover intellectual property issues affecting farmers, ranchers, agri-businesses, and food entrepreneurs. This panel discussion will include:

  • An overview of intellectual property regulation in the United States and a history of its development
  • Comparative analysis with European Union regulation of intellectual property
  • International treaties regarding intellectual property
  • Overview of copyright, trademark, patent, and trade secret law
  • Agriculture biotechnology issues
  • Infringement cases, including saving seed litigation

Brian is an Associate in the McNees Intellectual PropertyAlcoholic Beverage and Liquor License and Food Industry practice groups.  He is a 2015 Forty Under 40 award recipient and has been recognized as a 2014 and 2015 Pennsylvania Rising Star®. In 2012, Brian was awarded the Legal Intelligencer’s Unsung Hero Award for pro bono service.

In his practice, Brian focuses on trademark and copyright protection, software and technology services contracts, franchising, food labeling, internet law and other issues related to the protection and licensing of intellectual property. He has a particular focus assisting craft breweries, wineries and craft liquor distilleries with trademark protection, development of branding strategies and liquor license permitting.

Brian received his J.D. from Widener University School of Law and his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.  He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
