McNees trademark attorney Lois Duquette named among YWCA Greater Harrisburg’s Tribute to Women of Excellence

HARRISBURG, Pa. — (March 8, 2024) McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Lois B. Duquette will be among 27 women presented with the YWCA Greater Harrisburg’s 2024 Tribute to Women of Excellence award this month.
Keynotes:
- The Tribute to Women of Excellence honor is a 35-year tradition that celebrates women for contributions to their region, both professionally and philanthropically. To date, more than 750 extraordinary women have received this distinction.
- Duquette was notably recognized for seamlessly combining her commitment to providing pro bono legal services, dedication to mentoring early career attorneys and active community service with her career as a highly accomplished trademark and commercial contracts attorney.

Duquette regularly provides pro bono legal services, including as a volunteer attorney through MidPenn Legal Services’ custody program and the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Wills for Heroes program. She also serves as vice president of the board of directors for the Gretna Theatre, lending her legal and business knowledge to support the organization’s mission to promote community through professional theater that engages, entertains, transforms and educates. Duquette additionally shares her legal knowledge through courses presented by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, where she recently assisted with session on applying lessons from supply chain disruptions to reduce future risks.
At McNees and in the legal community, Duquette is known for her mentorship of early career attorneys, including those that have become successful in-house counsel for central Pennsylvania companies. Those who have benefited from her mentorship share that Duquette includes them on meaningful projects, provides excellent learning opportunities and shares intentional feedback. Duquette has more than 30 years of experience as a trademark and commercial contracts attorney who protects businesses’ intellectual property and interests in contractual relationships with business partners. She has a deep understanding of business challenges associated with trademarks, copyrights, contract manufacturing, licensing, advertising and promotions, to name a few, and regularly negotiates a variety of agreements that support successful business relationships.
