YORK, Pa. — (April 1, 2025) McNees Wallace & Nurick today announced the addition of two new attorneys to its expanding York office.
Lara Bream has joined McNees as Of Counsel in the firm’s Litigation Group, where she will also advise clients on matters related to special education and education law. Steven Ahlbrandt has joined as an associate in the Real Estate, Construction & Procurement Group. Both will serve clients from McNees’ York office.
“McNees has long served the York County community, providing a wide range of legal services to clients from our downtown York office,” said Anne Zerbe, McNees member attorney in charge of the York office. “With Lara and Steven joining our team, we now have a deeper bench for clients seeking legal counsel – particularly in the areas of litigation and real estate and construction law.”
Bream joins McNees with a strong background in regulatory compliance, liability claims and mediation. She works with clients across various industries, and advises educational institutions, including universities, colleges and school districts, on state and federal regulations, liability risk management, contract matters and civil rights claims.
Prior to joining McNees, Bream served as a professional liability claims consultant, managing complex cases from investigation to litigation. She also has worked as a litigation associate, defending public and private employers in state and federal proceedings and providing legal counsel on internal policy compliance. Bream earned her law degree from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.
Ahlbrandt joins the firm’s Real Estate, Construction & Procurement Group, where he will assist various clients, including residential and commercial real estate developers, investors, lenders, buyers, sellers, businesses, nonprofit organizations and commercial lessors and lessees. He provides legal services for real estate transactions, including deed preparation, title work, residential settlements, approvals and permits and commercial and residential land use.
Before joining McNees, Ahlbrandt previously worked as a real estate associate and law clerk, where he gained significant experience in real estate law. He earned his law degree from the University of Baltimore and his bachelor’s from the University of Delaware.
With the addition of Bream and Ahlbrandt, McNees now offers clients a broader spectrum of practice areas from its York office – including corporate and tax; labor and employment; litigation; and real estate, construction, and procurement.
