McNees Attorney Denise Elliott Earns Workers’ Compensation Law Specialty Certification

Lancaster, PA – (April 19, 2018) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC Attorney Denise Elliott has been certified as a specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Workers’ Compensation Law Section.
During the 2018 certification process, Denise demonstrated that at least 50 percent of her practice focuses on the field of workers’ compensation, that she has practiced in the field for more than five years and that she actively participates in Mandatory Continuing Legal Education in workers’ compensation law and related fields. In addition, she passed the certification examination on workers’ compensation law and rules, as well as leading case law.
In 2012, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court approved the PBA Workers’ Compensation Law Section as the first bar association entity in Pennsylvania to certify lawyers in the area of workers’ compensation law.
Denise is a member of the McNees Labor and Employment Practice Group. She focuses her practice on defending self-insured employers in workers compensation matters and providing representation and counsel to clients in employment discrimination litigation, ADA/FMLA compliance, drug testing, safety and health issues. Denise represents public and private sector employers in all phases of employment related litigation, including in workers’ compensation litigation. Denise also provides proactive counseling and training to help employers avoid litigation. Denise’s understanding of the interplay between workers’ compensation laws, the ADA, the FMLA and unemployment compensation is critical in helping her clients navigate the complex web these laws often create. Denise is a member of the Pennsylvania and Lancaster Bar Associations. She is the past chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section and the past chair of the Labor and Employment Section of the LBA.
