New rules that impact EVERY federal government contractor and subcontractor

Beginning March 24, 2014, in addition to their responsibilities to collect demographic data regarding race, gender, and ethnicity, federal contractors will also be required to collect demographic data related to applicant and employee classification as a protected veteran under the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) or as an individual with a disability under Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The McNees Wallace & Nurick Counting Heads Seminar will provide federal contractors with advice on how to update employment practices to comply with these new regulations. Seminar participants will learn about the hiring benchmarks they must establish, what it means to “take affirmative action to recruit, hire, promote, and retain” veterans and individuals with disabilities, the changes that need to be made to Affirmative Action Plans (AAPs), how you can get applicants or current employees to “self-identify” as a veteran or a person with a disability, and more!

Come hear McNees Wallace & Nurick attorneys Jennifer Baker, John Baker, Schaun Henry and Lee Tankle explain how these new rules impact every federal government contractor and subcontractor and what you MUST do to be compliant. An official from OFCCP also has been invited to participate in this seminar.
