McNees Land Planning Specialist to Present on Building a Successful Planning Commission

HARRISBURG, Pa. – (November 6, 2020) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC land planning specialist Christopher Knarr, AICP will co-present a class on the importance of building a strong planning commission on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. The class is offered by the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission and the Central Section of the American Planning Association’s PA Chapter in partnership with the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Education Institute.
While using hands-on activities and interactive discussions, Chris and his co-presenter will explore the full range of a planning commission’s work, how it can be organized to accomplish more of its goals, and what is needed to prepare members to get involved in the group’s work.

Chris, a certified instructor for PMPEI, is a land planning specialist in the McNees Real Estate Group. He assists commercial and residential clients and other landowners in various matters before municipal planning commissions, governing bodies, and zoning hearing boards. As a certified planner (American Institute of Certified Planners), building code official (Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry), and zoning officer (Pennsylvania Association of Zoning Officials), Chris’ work includes assistance with all forms of development approvals, zoning relief, as well as zoning amendments and challenges.
