McNees Attorney to Co-Present Virtual Workshop on COVID-19 and Workers Compensation

HARRISBURG, Pa. – (September 17, 2020) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC attorney Denise Elliott is slated to co-present the virtual workshop “COVID-19 and Workers Compensation: What You Need to Know” for the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce on Friday, September 18, 2020.
Denise, along with Dr. James Rochester of WORKNET Occupational Medicine, will discuss what makes an illness an “occupational illness” and thus compensable under workers’ compensation. The duo will explore how compensation may respond to the Coronavirus and whether employers are at risk of workers comp claims if an employee is diagnosed with the virus while employed. Lastly, they will provide steps companies should be taking to protect themselves.

Denise practices in the McNees Labor and Employment Practice Group, where she focuses on defending self-insured employers in workers’ compensation matters and providing representation and counsel to clients in employment discrimination litigation; ADA/FMLA compliance; drug and alcohol issues in the workplace; and health and safety. She is certified as a specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Law Section.
