Kraig Haverstick

Kraig practices in the Patent Division of the Intellectual Property Group as a patent agent in preparation and prosecution of patent applications. He has patent experience in a wide range of technical fields in the chemical, biotech, mechanical, and electrical arts. Kraig has worked with many individual inventors as well as small, mid-size, and large companies. He has experience in all stages of patent prosecution, including meeting with clients and inventors to obtain invention disclosures, drafting and filing patent applications, drafting and filing office action responses, conducting telephone interviews with USPTO Patent Examiners, corresponding with foreign agents to provide instructions for foreign patent prosecution, conducting patentability searching, and aiding in infringement analysis.

Kraig’s graduate work focused on chemical synthesis of model amino acid and peptide amphiphiles and characterization of amphiphile systems by Langmuir-Blodgett techniques and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. His Ph.D. thesis was entitled “Fundamental Behavior of a Model Biomolecular Amphiphile System”.

In addition to his doctoral work, Kraig has held two post-doctoral research appointments, one with Lehigh University in 1999 and one with Cornell University from 1999 to 2003.
