McNees Attorney to Participate in Land-Use Webinar

LANCASTER, Pa. – (Monday, July 9, 2018) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC attorney Claudia Shank is slated to take part in the first of a series of land-use webinars presented by Penn State Extension on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at noon.
The webinar will focus on the regulation of short-term rentals like Airbnb and the concerns that have risen in cases where municipal regulation is nonexistent or not thoroughly thought out. It will also offer guidance on how to draft regulations for the benefit of a municipality and its residents.
Claudia’s portion of the presentation will cover how courts have dealt with the lack of municipal regulation and what recent court decisions in Pennsylvania mean for landowners and municipalities moving forward.
The presentation will also include insight from Shawn McGlynn, zoning officer with Middle Smithfield Township and principal with SFM Consulting LLC, which provides zoning services in Pike and Monroe counties.

Claudia practices in the McNees Real Estate Practice Group where she focuses on representing individuals and developers before municipal entities in land use and permitting matters. She also assists her clients in obtaining zoning relief, including variance, special exception and conditional use approvals. Experienced in the courtroom, she is comfortable litigating land use appeals and other real estate disputes. In addition, she frequently assists clients in transactional matters, such as negotiating agreements for the purchase, sale or lease of commercial property.
