What does Lois do for her clients?
Lois offers practical legal advice for protecting intellectual property and negotiating business contracts. She practiced for many years in-house and has an understanding of the business challenges associated with a legal situation. Lois helps both large and small companies, as well as individuals, develop and implement cost-effective intellectual property strategies that utilize trademarks, copyrights, patents, trade secret, licensing, and litigation, to grow and protect the client’s business locally, nationally or worldwide, as appropriate for the client. When enforcement is necessary, Lois is an experienced litigator who has successfully represented clients in federal court and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the USPTO. In addition to her intellectual property practice, Lois helps clients to negotiate a wide variety of agreements that support successful long term business relationships. Lois also has deep experience in the food industry and advises clients on issues related to the food industry such as recalls, advertising claims, and development, manufacturing and sourcing agreements.
What do Clients have to say about Lois?
I trust Lois as a lawyer, legal partner, adviser, confidant and strategist. Her gift is matching legal acumen with business acumen, gained from her substantial breadth of experience as in house attorney. There are many firms that can provide legal advice, but not many attorneys that can help you deliver in ways that in-house attorneys must. True long-term relationships are built upon trust, confidence and support, which Lois consistently provides to myself and my team. – Lauren H. C. Lacey, Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary
I have worked with Lois Duquette for a number of years on our trademark work. Lois and her team of paralegals have always been very responsive to our needs, and have handled our registration and trademark prosecution work in a very professional and practical manner. Lois’ knowledge of trademark law is very extensive. Because McNees Wallace is a “small city” lawfirm, I also have found her fees to be very reasonable. I would highly recommend Lois to any company looking for trademark counsel. – William Gupp, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
