Harrisburg, Pa. – (April 16, 2018) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC Attorneys Debra Cantor, Anthony Hoover and Paul Helvy will be participating in the Family Law Institute on April 17 in Philadelphia. Deb will be serving on a panel with Helen Casale, Esq. and the Honorable Michael Fanning speaking on “A New Norm: Third Parties in Custody & Support.” Anthony will be on a panel with Elizabeth Early and Bill Phelan discussing Case Law Updates. Paul is one of the course planners of the Family Law Institute.
Deb is a Member in the McNees Family Law Practice Group and practices in all areas of family law offering all process options including litigation, collaborative law and mediation. She is an experienced advocate in all family law matters. Deb also focuses her practice on the preparation of pre-nuptial agreements.
She is a frequent lecturer on family law topics across the state. Deb has been active in the collaborative law movement in Pennsylvania since its inception and has held multiple leadership positions both locally and statewide. Deb believes that families deserve experienced representation and the right to select how their family will transition into the next phase of their lives. Not only should clients select their family law attorney, but also the process that is best suited for their situation. She is a member of the Family Law Sections of the Cumberland, Dauphin and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and a member of both the International, State and Local Collaborative practice groups. Anthony is an attorney in the Litigation and Family Law Practice Groups at McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC, and practices in the area of civil litigation, divorce, support, child custody, property distribution, alimony, protection from abuse, and pretrial practice, including injunctions and asset protection orders.
Anthony practices in the area of family law and related areas of civil litigation throughout Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Family Law Section of the Dauphin County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. Anthony has served as a CLE lecturer throughout Pennsylvania, addressing family law issues, and is a frequent author on legal developments in the area of family law. Anthony has presented programs for the PBA Family Law Section, Family Law Institute, Dauphin County Bar Association, and Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He has published articles in the Pennsylvania Family Lawyer, Widener Law Journal, Legal Intelligencer, and frequently publishes articles on the McNees website regarding developments in family law.
Paul is Chair of the Family Law Practice Group at McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC. He has been practicing Domestic and Family Law since his admission to the Bar in 1988. Paul is a past Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Family Law Section. He has chaired the Legislative, Membership and Program Committees of the PBA Family Law Section and has testified before the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee regarding pending family law legislation. Paul is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Central Pennsylvania Collaborative Professionals.
Paul is a frequent speaker on behalf of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Institute and County Bar Associations on the topics of divorce, custody and support. Some of the seminars in which he has been involved include a presentation to the State’s Trial Judges regarding Business Valuation, Family Law Practice in Central Pennsylvania, Preparing Marital Settlement Agreements, Determining Net Income for Support Calculations, the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act and Updates on Recent Developments in the Areas of Distribution of Marital Property, Support, and Custody.
