McNees Attorneys to Present, ‘Healthcare Legislative and Regulatory Update’ for ISCEBS

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorneys Eric Athey and Sarah Ivy will present “Healthcare Legislative and Regulatory Update” on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the offices of Trout, Ebersole and Groff, 1705 Oregon Pike in Lancaster.
The presentation is being offered by the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the International Society of Certified Benefit Specialists (ISCEBS) and will offer two (2) CEBS CPE credits.
Athey and Ivy will review the rules and regulatory changes that are forthcoming and will discuss the proposed changes.
As the co-chair of the Labor and Employment practice group at McNees, Athey provides counseling and representation to employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including compliance assistance with laws such as the Affordable Care Act, FMLA, ADA, OSHA and wage and hour laws. He routinely helps unionized and non-union clients navigate difficult situations involving allegations of discrimination and harassment, as well as labor negotiations and arbitrations, employment contracts, and employment policy development.
Athey represents private and public sector employers before state and federal courts, arbitrators and administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, National Labor Relations Board, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Wage and Hour Division.
Ivy focuses her practice primarily in the areas of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), employee benefits, and executive compensation. She has extensive experience analyzing the rules and regulations under the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974. She has significant knowledge regarding the deferred compensation requirements of Code Section 409A and experience working with closely held businesses in using ESOPs as a business succession planning tool.
Additionally, Ivy is a frequent speaker and presenter on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
