HARRISBURG, Pa. — (June 10, 2022) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC is pleased to announce that Chair Brian Jackson and labor and employment attorney Denise Elliott were recognized as two of the most influential lawyers in central Pennsylvania by the region’s premier business publication.
Each year, the Central Penn Business Journal’s Power 30 List in Law & Lobbyists recognizes those who shape their communities and influence residents’ quality of life through the legal and political foundations upon which society depends. This is the second consecutive year that both Jackson and Elliott received this recognition.
A member of McNees for almost 30 years, Jackson is the ninth person to serve as managing partner and chair since the firm’s inception in 1935. McNees has pursued a path of geographic and service expansion — opening new offices in York, Devon and Pittsburgh and launching multiple complementary professional businesses — during his four-year tenure. Each expansion has enhanced the firm’s ability to serve Clients, meeting their expectations as trusted advisors.
Jackson previously served as practice group leader of the Labor & Employment Group for 15 years and vice chair of McNees for 13 years. A passionate public servant, he has served as a director with the Team Pennsylvania Foundation since 2019 and a member of its Audit, Finance and Executive Committees. Jackson also serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of the Capital Region, as Vice-Chair of the 2022 United Way Campaign and as chair of the Board of Directors of Trinity High School.
Elliott, an attorney in McNees’ Labor & Employment Group since 2014, focuses her work on defending self-insured employers in workers’ compensation matters and providing counsel to clients in employment discrimination litigation; federal employment law compliance; drug and alcohol issues in the workplace; and health and safety.
In addition to leading the firm’s Professional Development and Education and Wellness Committees, Elliott serves as chair of the Board of Directors of Girls on the Run Lancaster, member of Union Community Care’s Board of Directors and Personnel Committee, member of the Parent School Board at St. John Neumann Catholic School and classroom volunteer for Junior Achievement of South Central Pennsylvania.
