McNees Real Estate Attorney Honored with Young Professional Award

HARRISBURG, Pa. – (February 8, 2022) McNees Wallace & Nurick real estate attorney Claudia Shank was honored by the Building Industry Association (BIA) of Lancaster County with the Young Professional Award for her work promoting the BIA and its member companies as an ambassador, volunteer and leader.
Shank, a lifelong Lancaster County resident, serves as an associate director of the Lancaster County BIA as well as a member of the association’s Government Affairs Committee. She is recognized as a critical thinker who can immediately drill down to the important tenet of an issue and recommend a course of action.
“The industry experience and understanding she brings to the BIA along with the connections she has with local officials are critical as we advocate for the best environment for our members to do business,” Building Industry Association of Lancaster County Executive Officer Karen Watkins said.
At McNees, Shank practices in McNees’ Real Estate, Construction & Procurement and Public Finance & Government Services Groups, where she focuses on solving problems and building consensus to resolve disputes, acting as a tireless advocate for her clients’ interests when an amicable solution cannot be achieved.
Shank focuses on representing individuals and developers before municipalities in land use and permitting matters in her real estate practice, also assisting clients obtain zoning relief. She litigates land use appeals and other real estate disputes and often assists clients in transactional matters.
Shank also leverages her experience as a former assistant county solicitor to help counties navigate a broad range of legal issues, including compliance with the County Code, the Sunshine Act and the Right to Know Law.
